Job Overview

The internship will involve the preparation of a study of a sample of projects in up to 5 sectors across ADB’s portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Report summarizing findings of the study including recommended eligibility criteria for projects to complete ‘light touch’ climate risk assessment.
  •  Opportunities to improve climate risk assessment for ADB projects identified and integrated in ADB’s new climate and disaster risk screening and assessment tools.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program specializing in climate change, disaster risk management, hydrology, environmental engineering, environmental economics, or similar field.
  • Experience in applied research including literature review and stakeholder consultation.
  • Strong understanding of climate change adaptation and resilience principles and concepts as they relate to infrastructure and planning, including awareness of climate change challenges in ADB developing member countries.
  • Knowledge of international policy and commitments on climate change adaptation as relevant to MDBs and ADB’s developing member countries.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the infrastructure project cycle (planning, design, operation, and maintenance) will be an advantage.
