What's your job about?

At L'Oréal, we have a common purpose to Create the Beauty that Moves the World – it encompasses any job scope and in any part of the world we’re in. Right now, I am responsible to nurture the Young Talent Portfolio and own the strategy of the group to ensure we hire the best of the best young talents within the region my role encompasses.

Currently, I hold a regional role based in Singapore to lead the Young Talent Program of the L'Oréal Group within SAPMENA: from Morocco to New Zealand – a total of 35 diverse markets under 13 subsidiaries. The role is broad, but with one mission: to attract, hire, convert and retain the best young talent professionals to join us the dynamic world of beauty. I ensure that the best young talents fit for L'Oréal are attracted, hired, upskilled, retained to be the future leaders of the group.

What's your background?

Erika marries her passion for people, human connections, making an impact and ultimately, her love for the beauty industry in her profession. Currently, she is based in Singapore for an international assignment.

A graduate of Business Management Major in Communications Technology from Ateneo de Manila University, she attracts and spots the best young talents to the #1 Beauty Company in the world as the Head of Young Talent Management and Employer Branding  for SAPMENA (South Asia-Pacific, Middle East and North Africa Zone) in the L'Oréal Groupe.

She has been with L'Oréal for a little over six years now starting as an intern in the company. Prior to this, she led Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding, HR Business Partnering for Luxury and Professional Products, Employee Engagement and Young Talent Management in her home country, the Philippines.

Outside of work, you can find her either at a spin studio doing back-to-back classes or at the nicest or dodgiest of places all for the love of finding the best cup of coffee.

Could someone with a different background do your job?

Yes – at L'Oréal, you can be anyone you want to be and do anything you want to do. As long as you have the passion for people, especially the youth, I’m sure you’ll succeed in my current role.

Key skills that are needed in this role are: resilience, project management, data savviness, leadership skills, empathy

What's the coolest thing about your job?

What I love most about my job is there is no normal day – I’ve been in the company ever since I was an intern, but I always feel like I’m always learning something new every single day. The company also always challenges you in more ways you can ever imagine.

What are the limitations of your job?

At L'Oréal, we work flexibly and we have a working environment akin to a start-up. That’s what I personally love most about it – we are very output driven.
