The Role

The Pension Benefits Administrator works directly with other team members to directly handle the workload of the business, share expertise, and/or provide necessary process support to new joiners. Some of the work includes image processing, participant record updates, changes of address, direct deposit, tax changes, payment setups, fulfilment, death processing, and calculations.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the plan design
  • Perform routine, complex and recurring plan administration tasks for clients’ defined pension benefit plans and information
  • Work cooperatively with other team members to complete tasks and to ensure unified delivery of services
  • Learn and use Excellence tools and concepts to ensure efficient and quality output
  • Adhere to plan documents and government regulations in administering plans
  • Perform established quality control standards and meet established performance targets
  • Complete assigned cases using established procedures and in a timely manner
  • Meet productivity/utilization goals as well as meet established efficiency standards
  • Actively participate in team meetings and training activities
  • Follow and update documentation materials as directed

The Requirements

  • A graduate of Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or other related courses
  • Ability to gain a strong understanding of the administrative process as it relates to pension benefit plans and pension participants’ information
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, plan administration or insurance processing is a plus
  • Passion for solving problems and sharing solutions to exceed the standards of the client
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently, but also cooperatively in a close team environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Word is a plus
  • Professional and responsible approach to work, clients and colleagues
  • Ability to organize and prioritize with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete multiple projects within established deadlines
  • Work experience with US counterparts preferred
  • College degree holder
  • Work Mondays thru Fridays
  • Microsoft Powerpoint, Word, and Excel Skills
