About ING

ING Hubs Manila is a powerhouse of processing services that is central to the global ING Bank business. They provide services that range from financial markets, trade finance services, lending services, client due diligence/onboarding activities, corporate audit, legal, risk management, IT and software development, retail banking operations, and so much more.

Your role

Your rotations

In your 18 months, you set to work on projects related to Credit and trading Risk, Balance Sheet Risk, Risk Services, Compliance, Operation Risk Management, or Regulation. You are handed a lot of responsibility within your role right from day one. You are completely free to decide on your second rotation for yourself. Many of their trainees choose to spend one rotation abroad working on an international project, such as in London, Spain, Singapore, or New York. This international adventure is not only great fun but is also good for your personal and professional development.

After your first 18 months, having gained a wealth of experience, you set to work in a more permanent position where you’ll further enhance your knowledge. Your personal preferences and interests form an important starting point for the roles you fulfill. You could for example start your permanent role abroad, should this interest you.

Training & development

All ING trainees participate in global learning events. There, you learn about every aspect of core banking, such as the role of a bank, the bank balance sheet, bank funding, IT processes, and risk management. Needless to say, these events also help you to develop your soft skills such as how to deal with business partners, stakeholder management, and presentation techniques. Each traineeship track also has its own specialized training courses.

Benefits

Needless to say, they offer you a good base salary for this traineeship (starters position), paid annual leave, an impressive training package, and a permanent contract. At ING, you’re given the chance to put your talent to good use where it really matters: at the heart of the bank. Your analysis and recommendations will lead to a carefully considered risk profile that enables the bank to make a healthy profit but above all ensures the safety of their customers’ money, both now and in the future. Together with other (international) trainees, you will participate in global events, which will enable you to quickly build up a large network.

Career progression

There is a strong focus on your growth from several perspectives:

  • Personal: They help you to improve your personal effectiveness, such as time management, presentation skills, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Professional: You learn the basics of our core business of banking, enhance your knowledge of the financial services sector, and develop your skills in areas such as preparing business models and taking part in pitches.
  • Organizational: You gain insights into the business and an understanding of the competitive landscape and ING’s strategic priorities.
  • Relational: You learn the importance of building a strong network that reaches all of ING’s locations and beyond. They help you become an ambassador for ING and their values.

Work-life balance

They need people to think clearly which can only happen when you are rested, healthy, and enjoying life. In most regions, they offer working arrangements like flexitime, remote working, and part-time working so that you can strike the right balance between your career and your home life.

Company culture

ING culture has always been built about empowering employees in both life and work. This purpose represents conviction in people's potential. They are here to enable people to do things that move them and create a differentiating experience to unleash more of what they can do today, tomorrow, and in the future. They work in an environment where people are trusted to make decisions and every voice gets heard. If you have an idea to make banking better, you’ll be encouraged to make it happen – regardless of your position.

About you

  • Has a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in Econometrics, Economics, Law, or (quantitative) Finance (and degrees in Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics will also be considered).
  • Has an interest in financial services, an innovative take on banking, and an unconditional drive to turn ideas into reality.
  • Has gained (international) experience through various extracurricular activities.
  • Is enthusiastic and considers the interests of their customers and colleagues.
