Culture at ING Hubs Philippines

9.3
9.3 rating for Culture, based on 35 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
One of the reasons why I chose to work at ING after my internship was the fact that everyone was very open to learning. I was surprised at how even the higher ranked engineers would earnestly listen to my ideas or questions.

Teamwork and cooperation are the most important thing in a team. In my team, there are seniors that helps and guide us about the things that we are assigned with. There is a quarterly budget for the team which we use to go out as a team with the given fund that we enjoy.

The work culture in the office is beyond admirable. I could see that all those who work onsite are very much productive. I have also seen how they are able to manage their time well. They make sure that they have time to converse with their co-workers and they have time to take breaks together. As for the cooperation and teamwork, I have seen how they collaborate and help each other out when problems arise. Outside work, they also ensure the well-being of each and everyone, most especially in the recent calamity that hit the country.

As of this moment, there has been alot of salo-salo within our team. Even though it is only seldom, we ensure that we get to hang out together from time to time and get to know each other more.

I could describe the overall culture to be very healthy and dynamic. Most colleagues are approachable, even the managers. Growth and development is encouraged and supported because of the available resources and emphasis made especially during employee reviews. A lot of changes may happen and one would need to adjust.

During office hours, I feel encouraged to speak up and I don't have to worry about office politics. Feedback is very valued at the company and it is well enforced that giving feedback is important for growth. After hours, I get to enjoy time with friends and family as I get to find a working schedule that helps suite my work-life balance.

Inside the office, although we have seniors and leads, they do not feel intimidating and it is actually the opposite. All of the seniors and leads that I've met are all approachable and always offer their best to help.

The culture in this company is very amazing and being able to talk to your manager and higher ups comfortably. There are no "Ma'am" or "Sir" and just first name basis which made everyone feel equal. Everyone is also kind and willing to help and encourages us to speak up even on the smallest things. The events are also fun since we get to socialize with other colleagues in the department also the food is always good in these events!

The team was very welcoming, and it is evident that each member an expert in their role. Projects are done through collaboration. There are one-on-ones with the direct manager, and a supervisor (skip levels). Plenty of events where we can meet people from other departments as well.

Supportive working environment. I feel encouraged and supported to do more and be part of significant changes in the working process.

As a company with an international reach, I work with colleagues in Europe that are 6 hours behind my time. Thus I sometimes have to work in the late afternoon. However, everything is managed well and tasks to be done after work hours are very rare. Cooperation is highly encouraged and is often the driving force for most initiatives we endorse.

Collaboration is key in our team, up to the point that we forget which analyst belongs to which team. Questions and queries are encouraged in our team. Bosses are kind and supportive about our goals, may it be file-related, career-related, or about life.

In terms of culture, the company is very active in engagements and fosters a place for learning

The organization goes both vertical and horizontal with how it distributes its roles and responsibilities across the different business functions. This allows the organization to delegate its work in most of its areas easily which results a healthy balance. Of course, there would be areas in which it would be constantly stressful all the time, and there are also those that are heavy during certain periods such as end of quarters. ING HUBS PH has different ways of working and cultures. In Data, not only do we focus on work but we also have access to working groups that help distract us from our daily tasks. It helps unwind and be at ease. ING also has its employees encouraging outside activites like Running clubs, cycling activities, sustainability projects.

During office hours, the people in recruitment team are nice. They are also willing to help anytime we need guidance from them. They also don't show company hierarchy even though I'm just an intern. They also good at building rapport :)
Intern, Philippines - 02 Jul 2024
The company's culture I would say is very diverse, safe, and appropriate. Hierarchy is not evident, and everyone treats each other the same level. Everyone is well respected between each other.
