Management at ING Hubs Philippines

9.1
9.1 rating for Management, based on 35 reviews
How accessible are managers and do they make good mentors? You may want to address internal communication, performance feedback or praise and recognition.
The main reason why I chose to stay and get absorbed by ING after my internship was the mentorship and the way ING handled management. I would say its very European in a way that they don't like to emphasize the hierarchical differences in the ranks on the daily. The management really just comes off as mentorship

They ask if how I am doing in the team. They are approachable for feedback and giving advice on what to do. They make sure to be transparent at all times if there are some issues happening.

My managers are great mentors. They always make themselves available when I need help with something. They always check up on me to ensure that I am adjusting well and that I am doing well. They also connect me with other employees so that I can also communicate with other members of the team. Observing them as managers of the whole team, they also ensure to easily make themselves reachable. When concern arises, they are always quick to reply. In terms of internal communication or performance feedback or praise, they ensure to communicate private matters appropriately. They also have one-on-ones with each of the employee to discuss their performance and among other things. For remarkable accomplishments and performances, they announce it to the whole team. I see this as a way to motivate other employees to strive for excellence as well.

You do receive constant feedback with the one on one meetings with your manager but probably if one thing could be improved is to not always bring up the pressure of being a graduate trainee and instead provide specific steps and actions that we can take in order to ease our stress from the pressure of being a graduate trainee and our duties.

My direct manager is great in handing out feedback (whenever needed) and in giving me immediate next steps. I could not say the same for the (graduate trainee) program.

My managers are very accessible and serve as inspirations of who I want to be in the company. I have regular 1 on 1 meetings with my managers wherein we have discussions about growth and also develop a safe space for me to express my ideas.

The managers always give you the space and opportunity to grow as an individual and member of the company/team. They also value your inputs and provide mentoring/advice as necessary. The company and it's managers value honesty and integrity, and would prefer honest opinions over fake flattery.

These may seem like a subjective question but in my case, I'm glad to have been assigned with a great boss. He seems intimidating but he is a type whom I can learn a lot from and push me to my limits.
